All my life growing up,the Colt 1911,.45 acp was the pistol of choice for most all professionals who preferred a large bore semi - auto pistol, with the Gold Cup being the holy graile. As a man;I had lived with my National Match and the fact that I would live a long life with the factory Elliason sights, because the long slide cut for the elliason, made the installation of BoMars very difficult. One day, last year,I was at the range and had just finished shooting and took my browse through the counter area when I saw the Gold Cup Trophy with a factory installed BoMar rear sight. If that wasn't enough,it featured a checkered steel mainspring housing,a very light trigger, and a fit that I could only compare to the Wilson Combats. This was one fine Colt, without a doubt, and the price on it was $859.;it was a done deal,I left, returned the next morning, and picked the Trophy up.I also received a stack of range coupons good for the next year of shooting. This pistol is very well made;I've fired over 2,000 rds. through it without a single malfunction, and the accuracy can hold it's on against any 1911 on the market. groups.msn.com/THE1911BOYSCLUB/dubbleakshuns1911s.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=32
