I know it may be hard for some of us to choose one manufacturer as our favorite but many of us deep inside are biased towards one particular maker. If you had to only buy one make of gun, which would it be?

Would have to be Springfield Armory.
I would love to vote but for some reason it won't let me. Must be because I am voting for Springfield! ;D

I think that Springfield has everything I could want. AN excellent "Glock-wannabe" polymer-frame semi-auto, 1911 style .45, lifetime warranties, very reasonable prices, good looks, very reliable weapons. I know that there may be others out there that can provide all of these points, but I don't think they do it as well.
I would love to hear some of the reasons for everybody's voting.

Those are all good reasons you gave and I respect your opinion. About Walther... Walther has been building fine pistols for over 100 years now. I love the PPk as it is a fine pistol and I especially love the relatively new Walther P99 for more reasons than one. The P99 is exceptionally accurate, durable and effective. The P99 also has a fine prestine build quality with an excellent finish. The P99 is rather exotic as with most Walthers more so than most if all pistols. It seems like every Tom, Dick and Harry has a Sig, a Glock or some 1911. I wanted something different, something special. The P99 is also a fine crafted pistol with a modern flare. Special indeed...

I'm fond of all the interest you boys show with the P-99; is there anything that you can sell me on this "Fine Crafted " pistol, which might inspire me to purchase one? Your on your own with this one ; no help from the audience, please.

I've got to go with Sig (big surprise, I know)
Simple, beautiful (in my opinion), ergonomically perfect (again, my opinion) and reliable as all get out, not to mention one of the best shooting brands of automatic handguns on earth. Like a sleek utilitarian beast that has no need to show superiority with harsh lines or bells and whistles.
As far as everybody owning a Sig goes, I know about a hundred people with Glocks, and I've only known two other people (aside from on this board and things) that have Sigs. They're too expensive. We're in our own special, alloy-framed club.

Jeffly; What do you think of a Sig Boys Club Group ? Give me an answer before the P-99 Boys turn my loyalty around. ;D

Your on your own with this one ; no help from the audience, please. [ftp]http://www.whog.org/p99/The_Fighting_P99.htm[/ftp] FINAL NOTES Any Walther handgun is a classic piece, regardless of its vintage or architecture, and the legacy is not wearing thin. In every aspect the P99 is one of the most outstanding pistols of the modern era, a weapon for the fighting man or the collector of fine firearms. Even higher plateaus are achieved with the addition of high-tech lighting and targeting equipment and low signature devices. The Walther rates consideration for virtually any special operations project demanding first quality handguns. Published in the October 1999 Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement by Chris McLoughlin ;D

I guess this poll is for high priced pistols only...That must be why you left RUGER out.

I second Flipper, I probably would have voted for Ruger if it were up there, but since it's not, I voted for Glock. ;D
