Boy did this thread turn to crap! It's all about a snot nosed kid whose friends parents drive German luxury cars and hasn't been around long enough to be an expert in anything, fighting about his beliefs in the best cars, guns, motorcycles and so on. It is great to have your own opinions and beliefs, but you need to know when to shut up. There is a great wealth of knowledge on this forum that you can tap when you need it. Slamming guys that were deep into handguns when you were deep into a diaper will not serve you in any way. Don't put this sh*t on me. I may be young, yes. I may have a lot to learn about a great many things, yes but I'm not the one at guilt here. All I did was state my opinion and why I felt that way. The handgun world is so full of biases. Its like people who love Sigs have to hate Glock. People who love H&Ks talk smack about Sigs. ITs a lot of BS if you ask me. I don't roll that way. I'm fond of Walthers, SIGS, Glocks and even H&Ks. Just because I like one a little more than another doesn't make me difficult. I think others here are difficult and can't take it when one holds a different opinion from them. This is a forum on the internet and I don't have to shut up just because you don't agree with me. I also feel that some here (not naming any names) enjoy to argue and look for arguments. You don't know enough about me to pass judgement. I'm not a difficult person at all. ITs just when I have an opinion, I'm not afraid to share it.

You are correct. You don't have to shut up. That is a First Amendment right. But that is also my point. It is wisdom that tells one when to shut up. I will now shut up.

That would depend on what I was buying a new gun for. Self defense would be a Kel-Tek 3AT. I normally am limited to carrying my weapon in my pocket. Big bang would have to be a Ruger S/A 44mag. Good gun, Good price. Target, not sure, open to suggestions. Dave

Ok, DA, the question is "what is your favorite handgun manufacturer?" not "what do you think is the best?" The question is, at its heart, subjective, and all about oppinion. If Colt is you favorite manufacturer because of the reasons you gave, ok. I'm inclined to agree with you. I still picked Sig because they're my favorites to shoot, and that's all the reason I need for them to be my favorite. I'm not saying they're the best.
And what's this about telling other people not to say what they think? I'm not trying to flame, but that sounds like kind of an elitist attitude that I didn't think the people on this board are interested in. If you don't agree with what somebody thinks, then by all means let them know in a constructive manner, but don't tell people not to say what they think at all, or "refrain from stating their opinions" just because you don't agree.
That being said, I have all the respect in the world for you and your knowledge, and I look forward to continuing to read your well thought out posts and replies.
Everybody else, let's just let this go. I don't understand the problem people have with someone who doesn't have the same opinions. I don't like P99s that much, but I'm not here talking trash about Jonathan because he does. I think there are a few people on here who need to let things go, agree to disagree, and above all try to be a little more adult and a little less personal when stating opinions.
And stop telling people to shut up. It's juvinile and not what a discussion forum like this is about

Hey, im the HK guy... remember. And I had to stop posting in this thread, because it was getting out of hand. It was leading to namecalling and stuff like that. That is worthless. What is this a chatroom? In fact, im starting to think its this forum. Ive been in numerous forums about all kinds of things. And never have had someone shit on me for my opinion, like I did in here. I have also heard people stating things that they say are facts, when actually they arent. Im here for good info giving and recieving. Thats whats informational forums are all about. Thanks to you who take the questions seriously. I admit, I was talking stuff too. But thats why I stopped posting in it. Oh yeah, and Jonathan... What do you do when someone who has an SS and is talking shit and wants to race you? Honest question.

Jeffly, Choices with handguns to me are more than one manufacturer can comply with. My choice for the single action semi - automatic is with the Colt 1911, because it is and was the standard for all others that followed. My Choice for the double action sem-auto is with the Sig Sauer, has been since I first found out about them in 1982 with the .45 acp P-220. My choices in the revolvers are much more varied because I have favorites in each caliber, and sometimes more than one in each caliber for different reasons. I do have more Colts than I do of any other manufacturer, but in the Semi-Autos, My Sigs and Colts are neck and neck at 8 to 8. I love all my boys, irregardless of their indifferences, but our Colts have seen many trenches on foreign soil, as well as one of the most carried handguns in American History, be it pistol or revolver, Cowboy, Cop, or Combat.

Oh yeah... I came across some things about HK that I thought I would share. If it is ok of course? Anyway these are all facts. Heckler and Koch were using polymer on there guns more than 15 years before competing co.s . It was also during the 1960s that HK perfected the famouse polygonal profile barrel. Any thoughts on that?

I've deleted Four memberships on this forum, one being a moderator with well over 2,000 postings, another with well over 600 postings. It takes me less than a month to post 500 messages on this forum, which is no easy task. Would anyone like to see this membership deleted? Say so and it will be done, Along with Gunmen II, The 1911 Boys, and the new Sig Mens Club. Time to put it to a vote boys.Start the thread poll.

DA: If someone gets out of hand, weather it be name calling or swearing or what ever it maybe. Give out the warnings and go from there. I think dumping the entire forum for the few acts of others wouldn't be fair to the rest of the forum. Sorta like don t let one bad apple make you cut the tree down.
