Jonathan: Got some feed back about if Walther P99 parts can fit on the S&W SW99.
Dear Sir, On a US built P99, the slide and barrel were made by S&W. They are Dimensionally and materially different from the German counterpart. Also the FRAME RAILS are different & accessories from one wont fit the other. Sincerely, Earl
Earl J. Sheehan Jr. Earl's Repair Service, Inc.
So if its all GERMAN made the slides wont interchange CORRECTLY if you decide to put the US version on the GERMAN made gun. So much for swapping parts as someone said. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;D

MLB: The only RED I see is when the Walther P99 is loaded and ready to rock, unless of course you hit the decocker

Boys; Just remember that shooting, collecting, and enjoying handguns is more than just one style, make, model, caliber, and choice.

Man, I thought Glock guys were bad. ;D
I know, Jonathan, MrBond, you like your P99s. More power to you. Not my cup of tea, I like something a little more utilitarian, but if everyone liked the same thing we'd all be carrying it, right?
This going off about how your gun is better than anything is a little juvinile. Let it go. It's a nice gun- not a super-duper, better than anything gun.
And trashing the Sigs for not having massive technological innovations? Ouch. I am wounded. Sometimes it's enough to take existing technology and make it work better than anyone else has.

Look at the H&Ks...a relatively new company comes out with two of the ugliest guns I have ever laid my eyes on (the USP and the P7) but since they're effective and the Seals use them you can't buy one cheaper than $1,000. $460 for the pistol, $170 for the light. $545 $645 Jonathan, I think you are shopping in the wrong places. I won't comment on the asthetics of the Walther P99, but it seems to me you have a HK fixation. Perhaps you should try one............ FWIW, people I knew in the USN used M11s or M9s. Occasionally you would see a personal weapon. It would be a 1911 almost invariably. Now aren't these guns beautiful? ;D

The USP fullsize is one of the best looking full size .40s I've seen. And when I see a cop carrying a P220 or one of those, I know it's the guy who knows how to shoot it, and didn't buy the first gun offered to him. Much respect for the HK

BlackDog,
Glad you posted that pic. Did you notice that someone "painted" a little bit of handgun safety onto Laura's trigger finger? Funny stuff.
She could make even the P7 look good! ;D

You guys are killin' me... How can anyone say an HK is ugly? ;D ;D Like this: The USP is ugly. Asthetics: Guess what? The Glock is Ugly, SW second and third generation autos...ugly. Sigma...ugly Walther...yep ugly including the P99 series. Sigs...some ugly some are "ok". CZ: Ugly Kahr: ugly the ss versions are "ok". Ruger auto pistols: Ugly to semi Ugly. Steyr: Ugly Hi Point...God Saken butt ugly Taurus Ugly to semi ugly So what is "pretty"? Colt Phython, King Cobra, and Anaconda Pretty much any 1911 style auto except those with double stack grips or rails. Stainless S&W Revolvers Most Stainless Revolvers except some Taurus and all Rossi The Vaquerio and BlackHawk/Redhawk series Ok as you can see...."looks" has nothing to do with facts or utility. Nuff said.
