Hello All Thanks for taking the time to read this. I would like to hear the members ideas on what I should be looking for in a target spotting scope. I am looking to purchase a spotting scope that can be used as close as 15 yards on out to 50 yards. Thanks in advance for your views, ideas and any guidance you wish to share with me.

plh,If 50 yards is the maximun distance that you'll be using the scope, and if paper is your target,I suggest that you try thr Birchwood Casey Shoot N See self adheisive Targets. They are constructed of two layers with the inner layer being bright yellow;when the bullet impacts, the hole forms a bright yellow ring, giving instant feed back on the bullet's impact. These can be seen as far away as 50 yards for many.I have a friend that has spotted for me at those distances, using ordinary binoculars, while using the plain paper targets.

Yeah, I agree with DA that binoculars would be real good for those distances. I have a pair of 10x50s that would work well or 7x35 would be fine as well, both especially good on overcast days.
