I'm curious... what is so special about some of these cartridges that I see in some gun-magazines? I think one is a Ranger and is marked Law Enforcement Only (LEO)? What's the difference b/w that and what I can get at Rick's Rifle shop? I hate it when I'm told that I CAN'T have something that someone else can... I'm too rebellious... but I would like some LEO cartridges! ;D

The LE only ammo is mostly a gimmick. Ranger +p+ is available on the net or at gun-shows, I don't know the prices, but it is legal for anyone to buy it. The gun grabbers had a fit with black talons (predecessors to the ranger +p+). By calling it LE only the prices go up and grabbers back off, a double win for ammo makers.
I checked out auctionarms ammo pages and they had it for 50+ bucks a box. There is a warning on the box that the pressures exceeds industry standards, but LE glocks are the same as non-LE.

I too was bothered by the LEO labeling. I did my research and in the state of Tennessee there is no law that says a private citizen can't own ammunition marked LEO. As far as I can tell it is strictly a stipulation the manufacturer has put on the distributors not to sell to non Law Enforcement probably for legal reasons or to jack up the price. You can find Ranger SXT .40 on www.gunbroker.com for $26.00/ 50 rounds. Search for RA40T. -B
