Doc;Things got stalled out yesterday when I mentioned a deal involving just one of the Wilsons. It would take two of the revolvers to match the value on one of the Wilsons, and two Wilsons would equate to the sacrafice of four of my better revolvers. My brother would like a few of my Colts but he really wants the Weigand Customs, which I only have four. Those Wilsons are nice but like Xavier mentioned, the Weigands are no longer available.I tried to find some Weigand Customs on Gunbroker, yesterday, and found only a Ruger SP 101 tame the beast package where the owner was asking $1100. dollars. My brother just don't have the interest in the 1911s that I do,he is more into the revolvers.I had to do some talking to him to influence his appreciation for the Wilsons,he looses interest in semi autos real easy.

We're in it again; My brother called me tonight and we agreed on three Weigand S&Ws and One custom Ruger 10/22 for the two Wilson CQBs.So I get to keep one Weigand.Alot of 1911 leather,12 Wilson Rogers Magzines, and alot of .45 acp will be traded for some revolver leather, speed loaders,.44 special and .44 magnum during the dealing in the morning.Right now is disappointing because I'm off on vacation this week after busting up my shooting hand last week, otherwise I would be headed to the range tomorrow.

Doc,Xavier;I've got a break for the moment,my brother will be arriving in a couple of hours.I was doing some flips in the pool last week and when I went to do a dive I unconsciously set my dive short as I would for a flip, and my thumb jammed the cove side of the pool wall.I've hurt the thumb before, first time in the army during pugle stick trainging when the other guy released the solid wood handle and came down crushing my thumb between hs wood and the handle I was holding.I don't really want the Wilsons real bad,but I do shoot them well and can use the 4" for carry.Right now my thumb injury takes alot out of the thrill of it all.I reckon it will be easier to find some good cash deals on some revolvers than it will be on the Wilsons in the future,I still have enough left over but I've always wanted a four inch S&W 29.There is only one real revolver that I put up a fight on,and that was the 3" 629;the barrel was installed by Weigand, the gun originally came with a five inch tube,it has a ball and detent lock up on the crane, and a cutout on the underlug shroud to accomodate a longer extractor rod for the magnum cases. The rear sight was a one piece fixed, snag free, that had not long been manufactured, and the double action trigger had one smooth single 7 3/4 lb. stroke in turning the cylinder and cocking the hammer from shot to shot. But all said and done, the Wilson 4" is a better choice in a combat pistol when dealing with speed, accuracy, and multiple assailants. It boils down to a choice between reality and being a bit more practical.

DA I guess my advice would be to keep what you have and save up for one of the wilsons...Id just be afraid id regret loosing an inreplaceable gun. Im sure they will be making plenty of the Wilsons I hope to get one when I get my truck paid off.

I really appreciate everyones help on this, and it has been a difficult choice to make but it got down to more than a trade as time went on.Deals like this involving such occures seldom, but it is better done between brothers;I would have not given the slightest thought to such a deal if I had been approached by anyone else. The Weigand guns have been both of our treasures at one time or another and it usually takes big things for us to pass them. This time was different because it involved more of the guns than in the past;all I can say is he must have wanted those Weigands very bad and it makes me feel guilty for thinking that they would serve me anymore by keeping them. The deal is done and he was more than very generous to me,as always.I have to conclude this with another thread, and I do thank everyone for helping me through this.
