i am almost too embarrassed to ask this. i have been around firearms for a while, and have heard the term "MOA" or "sub-MOA" often. but i don't know what "MOA" stands for. is it an abbreviation?

Minute of Angle (MOA) is a term you hear around riflemen in reference to the accuracy of a firearm. If they say a rifle can hit a target within 1 minute of angle, that means it can group within 1.047 inches at 100 yards, 2.094 at 200 yards, etc. Sub-MOA would be an even finer tuned firearm.
Most hunters are satisfied with 1.5"-3" groups at 100 yards, but some, especially those who hunt in open country and make long shots, will demand a Minute of Angle or better in their rifle.

And anything you can do to increase the accuracy is a MOA-Constrictor. ;D
