This is my first post. You all sound very knowledgeable. Any help is greatly appreciated. I bought a Taurus PT-145 last weekend @ a gunshow in San Antonio. New in box. Took it to the range and shot 100 rounds. Worked great. Went to the range today and shot another 100 rounds. Here's the problem...Every other shot I have to manually pull the trigger forward for me to be able to shoot again. It just gets stuck. The gun jammed about three times also. The gun jamming might just be the ammo (it was reloaded..crap.) Shot new S&W .45 Auto and the trigger still sticks. I took it home and cleaned it throughly and it is still sticking when I dry fire. (No, I don't do that often). I called the gunstore who soled it to me and he's not willing to help (because it's been fired) referred me to Taurus. I dont want to send it away to Florida so they can have it for 3 months. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance. -Tony

I don't know that guns design, but sounds like its trigger spring, in a 1911 design that's in the back strap of the grip, but could be poor machining for the trigger channel. Pull the slide off and "feel the trigger movement " with the hammer held back, see if it binds up. Try to spray some "carburetor cleaner " pull off the grips if they are plastic or nice wood, spray the hammer -- down the mag. well -- trigger area while pulling and releasing it. If that won't help its most likely the fit / machining or a bad spring.

Dude you got hosed. If you purchased a pistol from a gun dealer that is faulty and he is not willing to help you out with it then you tell him he sold you a faulty product and you are not doing business with him again. I am not a pistolsmith but if its fresh out of the box and the trigger sticks then I would say that you definately have a problem. You can either take it into a trusted pistolsmith and pay to have him fix it, or sell the thing. I have owned a Taurus and have had friends that owned them as well and they usually have a very reliable product line. You might have been double delt by a discruntle dealer looking to get rid of a faulty gun for full price. Its a cutthoat business out there.

I hope you've learned your lesson about the brazilian pistols. Next time, put your money and trust into those who are known highly for building quality guns; like the Americans, Germans, Austrians, and Italians. I myself, prefer American or German.

Taurus is very good at fixing and returning their products in a timely fashion. it sounds like your double action return spring has broken or has come undone you can call taurus and find the factory autorized repair facility in you area and they will usually fix it at no cost to you or you can send it to taurus and they will usually have it shipped back to you within a couple of weeks unfortunately this is a fairly common occurance with taurus pistols good luck.
