I just purchased a new Blue, Ruger P95DC pistol. This pistol has a plastic grip frame. I was hoping someone could tell me what is the best product to clean this pistol and the best product to lubricate this pistol would be?? It has to be plastic safe. Thank you for any help you can give?

I've used "Simple Green" with good results on my Walther P99. It has a similar frame.

dont ever use house hold cleaners on your weapon. I have worked gunsmithing for a few years and have seen some horrible results. most of your gun cleaning can be done with just regular gun oil and patches and a rag. remove the grips when you clean it and then spray the gun down with GUNSCRUBBER or REMINGTON action cleaner. then spray some on a patch wrapped around a wire bristled bore brush and run it trough the barrel always from the chamber to the muzzle!! when you are done oil it down with gun oil put some on a rag and wipe down the entire weapon inside and out lubricat ethe springs and then run a patch with oil down the barrel it will keep your gun looking new.

In a steel or alloy framed handgun, I'd agree. Some of the solvent based cleaners can damage a composite (read plastic) frame. At least test the stuff to make sure that it won't melt the frame ;D
I do know that Hoppes 9 won't damage my P99 frame, if that helps...

Master Gunsmith Bob Dunlap teaches the use of Simple Green to clean guns. It requires the complete detail stripping of the gun and is rinsed with water afterwards. I have done this on my 1911's and I can tell you, they have never been this clean. It is important to thoroughly dry the metal and then a good soaking in BreakFree or other quality lube.
