Can someone expain the difference between a single action, and double action, semi-automatic pistol? I understand the difference in revolvers, but I'm not sure about semi-autos. thanks

A single action gun the hammer needs to be cocked back for the weapon to fire. on a double action when you pull the trugger back it will bring the hammer back with it, a double action is usually a heavier trigger pull than a single action and usally is only double action for the frist shot then sa for every shot after that. hope this helps
