Boasting to have a .45 ACP +P 165 gr.Hollow point Bullet that displays a muzzle velosity of 1,225 fps.I might check to see what their .40S&W gets.My 1911s would love this stuff.

Looks like the .40 smokes along at 1,325 fps if I read the press release right...

Yea;The 135 gr. Corbon in .40S&W is rated at 1300 fps and it's not the Pow' Rball stuff. These Corbon people have it together with the high velosity ammo,it very good shooting stuff too,it makes the slide cycle faster without alot of recoil in the lighter bullets.

DA: I don't know very much about the .45 Corbon, but give their .357 200 grain a try. If you haven't tried it I think you will agree it is pretty good stuff. Also, Corbon makes a great .44 mag in a 305 grain load. I haven't tried Garrett, but I have heard he makes a good .44, too.

Trapper;Corbon was the first that I saw with the new S&W .500 cartridges.I kinda wonder how much I would be pushing my Smith & Wessons with the hotter loads. The Ruger Super Redhawk don't have any question marks attached to it when it comes to that area.I've fired Hornady,Winchester Silver Tips,Hydra Shok,Eldrado Starfire, and a few others, including Ga. Arms 240 gr. Gold Dot at 1325 fps but that's about the most I've ever put through the S&W revolvers. The Freedom Arms Casull revolver is another good one.At one time I heard of some Grover revolvers that were very special and featured the loading gate on the left side of the frame, true for a right handed shooter. The Grover revolvers were supposed to be very strong,I haven't heard much about those lately.

DA: Good point. I have used Corbon in my Model 27 and have not noticed any loosening so far. I have fired about 30 rounds or so through it. I think the N frames should handle them well. What do you think?
I am more careful with my K fram 66--I have fired about 6 rounds in it. As I have said a couple of times, I carry Corbons in my Model 66 or added advantage in backcountry.
With the 686, L frame, I have not experience. Perhaps someone else can comment.
I don't use Corbon exclusively in any of my handguns--too powerful and too expensive.

I practice only the minimum amount with the hot stuff like RBCD, Corbon, RBCD, etc. because the danged stuff is so expensive and some of the firearms I own can't take the kind of punishment those rounds deliver on a routine basis.
I shoot a few rounds of the hot and expensive stuff to get a feel for it and then practice with a few boxes of cheap, ball range ammo.
