hello, was wondering if you guys load up the allowed maximum capacity on your magazines. i was told that it is better to put one or two rounds less to preserve the life of the spring, is this true or does it make a big difference? thanks.

For my own preference If I'm leaving a magazine loaded for awhile I don't let the magazine sit fully compressed,so I leave it one to two rounds shy of being full, depending on whether it's a staggered stacker or vertical stacker.

Normally to full capacity. If I'm gonna load it, it normally means I mean business ;D Besides, mag springs are relatively cheap vs. the addtional 1-2 rounds that you may need. I just cycle the mags around for those that are in ready to use against the spares.

I dont fully load the 30 rd M16 mags, cause the excessive tension tends to reduce feed reliability. I prefer the 8 rd Wilson 1911 mags, loaded with 7 rds. The "chopped" Star butt is of a length to let the 6 rd mags have a bit of "slack" in their springs.
