Does anyone have any experience using 'frangible' ammunition? Are the actual bullets still lead or some other material? I'd be interested in hearing the pro's and cons.

Look at that, three stars. Is it true that you can only get your fourth in battle? ;D

Never have used them though I understand they are deadly at short range and I would want air marshals using them instead of traditional bullets.

There are different designs in the frangible bullets, the Corbon .45 ACP frangible ammunition ( under the Bee Safe brand) is one that has a typical jacket stuffed with a plastic filler and seven #4 lead shot pellets. To insure proper feeding, the bullet is topped off with a .35 caliber lead ball in the nose. There are others that I don't have time to get into at this late hour, but I can tell you that the velosities dispayed by some of this type of ammunition is overwhelming.
