Ok gents, In your oppinions. What are the hottest of the hot loads out there for 9mm and .40 cal. I plan on working out my new Kahr PM9 this weekend, and I want to get as much recoil as possible out of it. I'm kinda running a test. I'm going to do the same with my Sig P229 .40. I usually load up with Fed Hydra's but as you all know. They have very mild recoil. I use them because my police dept. issues them. For this test I want as harsh and as hot as I can get, not unsafe though as always. Lend me your thoughts guys.

Here is something that might help. www.ammolab.com/9mm_section1.htmPersonally from what I have tried ( and of course I have only tried a few ) Winchester SXTs feel pretty "hot" when shot from my Glock 19.

Thx Doc. I am so glad that summer heat here is finally over. It's the opposite here: Bike season starts now. I'm seriously considering buying a second one.

Yep, time for the sailboat to go in for hibernation too. (note the small "s" Mike.) Winter in NY is no place for a tiny boat like mine.
On the other hand, that indoor pistol range will be nice. If NY ever gets around to issuing that permit...

Doc;The Corbon 135 gr. JHP in the .40 S&W will get you around 1300 FPS.I shoot it in my 229,239,and 229 Sport Pistols but it is not like the .357 sig.I can get the .357 sig at georgia arms with a 125 gr. FMJ and a velosity rating of 1300 fps at $8.50 for 50rds.or $155. per thousand rds.The .357 sig with a 125 Gold Dot bullet from Georgia arms will get you 1400 FPS and it goes at $12.95 per 50 rds or $245 per thousand rds.

MLB, I am always ready to put my boat away by this time of year. I don't get tired of it. Just Ready to get winter going I think. I miss it as soon as the boat show comes to town. Our NY winters are brutal aren't they?

D/A, Hows your injury healing by the way? I was thinking of trying the CorBon's or maybe the speers. I gotta see what my Range has for me. I am running a test to compare the Winchester White Box FMJ's against some high dollar, hot shooting JHP's. I 'll let you know how it goes. I want as much bang, and recoil as I can get. The .357 Sig is no doubt hot. I hate shooting next to that guy at the range.. LOL Muffs and plugs..LOL

Doc;I wouldn't worry about the guy next to you;he;ll probably step back to see what your shooting and you can offer him a feel of the pistol ( That's what I do).If you want HOT,go with the .357 sig.The Corbon 135 gr. in .40 S&W steps the velosity up in comparison to other .40 S&W cartridges.I can tell you that the 229 performs very well with the .357 sig, especially at longer distances.Carry some extra ear plugs for your range neighbors, some only use the muffs.

Doc;Thanks about asking about my hand; It's slowly getting better, the joint in my thumb to the hand is mushroomed as the result of about four separate injuries, starting from 1969 while in the Army.I have fired my Wilson CQBs during the past month and it bothers me afterwards. The more I use it will determine what my options will be with corrective surgery.I'm glad it's not an elbow, wrist, shoulder,or blindness in my dominate eye.I'm getting alot better than I was.
