I've been reading a lot of comments in which people say that the hogue rubber grips are must haves for the p239, but I was wondering if most of the resident gun-gods here consider this a worthwhile add-on for the other sigs, especially the p220 (I might be able to get a deal on one of them, so I'll have extra for accessories). I shot a p239 with and without the grips, and agree that they're a huge plus, but I haven't had that opportunity with the p220. I also have huge hands, if that makes a difference.
Also, any good ideas for holsters for the 239 and 220?

Jeffly;I'm not a gun God but I do have the wood on the Sig 220,as well as the rubber.I tested the Checkered Wood Hogues on the 229 earlier this year and like those better than the rubber,on that pistol.I prefer a checkered backstrap if I can get any with it,but still with larger hands, your fingers can wrap around the grip to meet with the checkering on the opposite grip side of your palm side.I shoot the 220 just as well with the stock plastic;could be because the 220 is a single stack with a narrower grip. The 239 has been right at home wearing the rubber hogues;if I had a Two Tone 239 I would probably put the checkered wood on it.I do have some smooth Hogue Coco Bolo wood for the 239 but a like something that grips better if I have dry hands.Stick with Hogues, they make the Sig Factory rubber grips for the Sig Sport Pistols.I have some rosewood grips made by Eagle one of my 220 pistols but I had to fit those.

I was thinking of the wood grips if I get a stainless P220, still waiting on some cash from fidelity.
But if I do go with the rubber grips, do you think the finger grooves like the ones everyone likes on 239s would be worth it? Or should I just get the standard Hogue grips like the sport pistols?

Jeffly; With the Hogue fiinger grooves on the 239 your working with a grip length which is assisted by the magazine's base plate. The finger grooves on the Hogues for the 239 are not deep enough to affect your ability to grasp the grip because it is a pistol that will place your hand next to the trigger guard on the frontstrap everytime you grab it.The Hogue Rubber Wrap Around Grips will provide you with a very firm grip on the pistol, with no shifting, from shot to shot, minumizing recoil, and the finger grooves will provide your hand an increased grip retention of the pistol.I often refer to the Hogues on the 239 as having the Pistol's grip fused to my hand.
