well i dont have a 229 in 9mm however i have it in .40 s&w. nice sized pistol that is accurate. concealment is sometimes easier said than done. the 229 is great and i would recommend it to anyone, however if you are dead set in a 9mm i would take a look at the 228. it is a little thinner and i think an little easier to conceal. i love my 228. but it all boils down to personal preference

First off the 229 is only offered in 40 and 357 sig the same gun in 9mm is the 228. i have owned and carried a 228 and it is a great gun wonderful accuracy not incredibly heavy the magazines are double stacked and the finish is blacked stainless steel which is not traditional bluing. I currently carry this weapon in 40 and i would put it ahead of all the other guns i have carried ( which has been about 18 ) the SIG is the Cadillac of handguns and works flawlessly. you will love any sig P series handgun they are a joy to shoot own and carry. just do not buy a SIGPRO

229 comes in 9mm, .40 and .357. If you looking for a little smaller, you can look at the 239. That'll be easier to conceal than the 229.
I think as far as performace goes, you'll be well off with any model you decide on.
