I'm looking to purchase the P22 Walther package. The weapon has a lot of features but seems incredibly small. Do the extra backstraps help much? Also, I've read some miserable reviews about the reliability of the P22. What has been your experience with feeding/jams? Thanks.

I have the P22 with the short barrel. The backstraps help some. I have large hands, but still find the gun very comfortable to grip. As far as reliability, my works great as long as I feed it Remmington Thunderbolts, or Rem Golden Bullet hollowpoints, or CCI minimags. Of these three loads, I have about 1200 rounds without a single problem. It does not feed federal, or winchester loads well at all. I get misfeeds, jams, etc ~80%. Accuracy is very good, considering the short barrel. Breakdown is easy, but reassembly takes some practice before it is easy. Very fun to shoot.
