I just got a sig 40 cal (p226 i think) in california (factory new) with manufacturers case 3 mags tritium night sights (not the cheap kind) and barrel lock for 829 plus tax, ended up coming out to around 900. I wanted to get a pistol before I got out of the military and my friend from nebraska whos really into guns/hunting told me it was a good deal but Ive had a few people tell me I got ripped off .......a lot of them are from out of state, and buy used guns online, etc. Does anyone know if that is a solid deal for a factory grade sig w/all the extras purchased in Cali?

damien; You did pay too much, but it's not the end of the world. In the long run, you can make up for the extra 100. dollars, or so, by making your future purchases on other guns, holsters, and accessories with more patience. I do not buy online, because I do not need to; Most of my better deals are found closer to home. I have nine Sigs of my own, and many other handguns; I can tell you that you have lost nothing. I've seen many people sell handguns for half of what they originally paid for them, and never fired them the first time. Those are the deals you look for, and want to have people leading you to.Relax; You have your pistol, enjoy it, and forget about what others tell you, you'll have plenty of time to wheel other deals. We can talk more about this, the Sig 226 .40S&W, with it's 357 sig conversion barrel on this forum :http://groups.msn.com/HANDGUNS; Be real glad to have you over.

Unfortuanately in the Peoples Republic of California you get hosed on handgun purchases i just had to pay 83 dollars and buy a gunlock for my own gun!!! that i had shipped here that was just the registration fee!!! so i dont think you got hosed on the gun it is a good price for a new sig with 3 mags but you did get screwed by this stupid state and its liberal gun laws and fees. sorry
