I just recently had my first chance to fire my new Kimber Ultra Carry II. I must admit I bought it based upon years of hearing about what a great gun Kimber makes, and I liked the extremely compact size of this 1911 type 45 acp semi. After about 50 rounds fired (I know the break in period is supposed to be 200 to 500 rounds) I had a failure to eject. I had one awful time getting that cartridge case out (it was part way out) and had a tough time even removing the magazine which had some live rounds still in it. I also found that the gun fired consistently low and to the left. With fixed night sights I don't have much choice but to consciously compensate when aiming. I'm not a great shot, but I expected better from this Kimber. Was the FTE problem somthing that is likely to stop happening after I finish firing enough rounds to break this gun in? Advice would be appreciated.

Vito,
If it were me, I would try different ammo and see if it sights in differently. I also would probably call Kimber and see if they could sight the gun in and check out the extractor for problems.
I have heard that the shorter 1911's can be problematic.

Your FTE might have been from limp wristing the pistol. Or it could just be that things are "too tight" and need more breaking in. But make sure you wait at least 500 rounds before declaring it to be a lemon. The sights can be brought closer to point of aim, with a little tweaking, and different ammo. gungroup.proboards3.com/index.cgi
