I looking at the HK USP compact .357 SIG and the SIG p229 .357 and torn which to get. I don't like Glocks at all and I was looking at the Springfield XD .357 but once I saw the horrible accuracy review online I quickly said no to that. Too bad sharp looking gun and a great price but I guess you get what you pay for. I like the feel of the HK the SIG seems a lil front heavy to me and heaver all around. I also like the sights better on the HK, the SIG has a 4 inch barrel as opposed to the HK's 3 inch but told they will be just as accurate. Just to would like to hear some pro and con from any of you owners and if someone owners or shot both let me know your thoughts.

Kouc; Welcome to the Forum. The Sigs offer, not only the 357sig, but also the .40 S&W for the same pistol by interchangable drop in barrels. The HKs do not. If the 229 is too heavy, try the Sig 239 in the 357 sig. I prefer the Hogue grips with my own 239, either in wood or rubber.

Thanks double action, I have looked at the SIG p239pro and I do like it but for the price I like the HK, comes with the rail, though I think the accessories for the SIG are bit cheaper like lasers and such. Not to mention the SIG p239 pro only has a mag capacity of 7 when the HK has 10 to 12. Very much the same gun as the HK USP Compact, though I am pretty sure you and put a .40 in a HK as well and there is soon to be a 9mm I have heard. Main things I am looking to learn is conceal ability, easy of cleaning, recoil and how accurate they shoot. I was all about the p229 till I checked out the HK. HK is much easier to field strip and I liked the guide rail spring with plastic buffer system of the HK. I am curious if it helps with the recoil?? ;D

kuoc; For the money, simplicity of field strips, concealability, accuracy, and durability in a high tensile strength, aircraft grade, aluminim frame, I found the Sig 239 to be very comfortable among it's larger size P-Series Sigs.

kouc,
Don't let whatever online article you read about the XD scare you away. The XD is a fine combat weapon and would stack up to the Glock in accuracy and reliability without a doubt. I have not heard anything bad about the XD other than finish problems. For the price, you can't beat it. Rent one at a range if you can and it will dispell any crap you read online.
On the other hand, If you are willing to spend the extra $$, you can't go wrong with any Sig product. I have a P239 with the Hogue grips and it fires every time, very accurate and conceals very well.
I have fired the H&K USP and it is also a fine weapon. It is also the highest priced out of the 3.
If it were me, I would probably choose the P239 1st because it conceals well and is extremely well made, then the XD because it is a great buy for a reliable combat weapon and finally, the H&K. The USP's are pricey but great handguns. That is just my opinion. Any of these will serve you well.

Thanks Ta, My friend is getting the XD .40 so I will get to shoot that. Like i said not much of a glock fan. The money is not a problem just wanta gun that will serve me right. I went and put the hk on lay-a-way I do like the sig, I ever looked at the para ord. p12-45 very nice gun but I rather have decocker and the feild strip wasn't all that fun. I have to say after looking at them all the HK impressed me the best. Any owers of the HK .357sig have and pro's or con's I would love to here them before I pic it up. Seems like everyone here has a sig... would like som HK info. If not I just might have to switch to the sig.

:oJust want to thank the people that replied after much thinking, looking, and shooting I decided to go with a H&K USP Compact .45. Was gonna go Sig P220 but biger and less ammo... I don't know why gun makers make .45 with 6 and 8 size clip when they can damn well make a 10 clip. Anyway I plan to purcase a corbon .400 barrel for the HK after since that is the true gun i want. Some gets hit with a .400 corbon they ain't getting back up. then I have the best of both world in one gun. Somthing just bugged me about the .357sig being a .45 owner. Any owners that have a HK .45 with a barrel installed love to hear your thoughts. Again thank for everyones advice. ;D
