I have tried out a few holsters and they make it difficult to sit comfortably with. I was wondering if shoulder holsers work well. Can they be worn under a shirt ,do the fit close to the body, and do they conceal the weapon adequately? I have a hk usp compact. Thanks

I've carried guns in size similar to the USP (but not USP's themselves) in shoulder holsters with great sucess during the winter when I can conceal it under a jacket or something. I found the key is buying a good shoulder holster. I had a cheapy nylon rig that sucked. It just wasn't comfortable, and the gun shifted more than I would have liked. Also, the weight of the gun was a little to noticeable after a long day.
Then I bought a good leather one with wide straps in the back, (not just a strip of leather). I think it was called a Miami style, or Miami ... (whatever). It cost me about $135, but it was well worth it. You could put it on, and forget it was there, even with a medium sized semi-auto. It distributes the weight well, and there's very little shifting, not to mentio, it dosn't bother you when you sit down. I picked mine up at a gunshow, where they had quite a few good selection....
In my opinion, the key here is $$$$, don't go cheap on a shoulder holster or you'll be going back for a better one like i was destined to do.
However; I ditch the shoulder holster in the spring and summer because it's just too conspicuous. I switch to a bootlock ankle holster and a smaller gun, but as for the sitting problem, I think shoulder holsters are a good fix.......but that's just me ;D

I use the Galco Miami Classic X Style harness,it is lightweight horsehide and very comforatble.Bianchi has several from their current offerings like the # 16H,and the Scorpio #13 from a few years ago.I think you will like the comfort of Galco's Miami Classic,I have many of those for different pistols and revolvers. The newer ones are a little different from the original ones used in the television series,"Miami Vice",but the straps are the same.
