"Handgun Forum"?

A few years ago this was an insightful and intelligent site, designed for enthusiasts to offer up discussions and reviews on current topics and products in the industry as well as offer a true forum for those seeking information and/or opinions on the matter.

I see now, having been away for a while, that it is no longer any of these. Pity that it has degenerated to nothing more than a schoolyard pissing match completely unrelated anymore to firearms in general and more about simple juvenile slander.

Why don't you guys do us all a favor and stick to Instant Messaging each other your ridculous insults and leave the forum unmolested for the rest of us.

This is one of those "you would have had to been there" to understand what happened. This site went through some major transformations and actually crashed at one point. Fingers pointed in different directions, but the final result is what you now see. That spawned a few other sites that are and have been great informational sites and will continue. The problems that were experienced here, are not happening on the new sites. I recommend that you check in there. Great forums! Check them both out.

One of the downsides of this forum's collapse is the loss of "critical mass" of the subsequent forums. Please take a look at the forums that TA has linked to. They are moderated, and therefore less likely to degenerate as this forum has.

You wont have any friends in a pistol fight, so you'd better either end it in 2 seconds or less, or be using cover in that time frame. If you have cover, you can easily swap mags. If you have cover, all you really HAVE to do is prevent the enemy from outflanking your cover. As a law-abiding civilian, the cops coming are to help you. It's your attacker who must end it swiftly.
