I can't decide which model is better for me. I've been looking at the sp2340 .40 and the p229 .40 What i need it for: 1) Im going to conceal it 2) Im a poor college student so money is somewhat important. However I wont sacrifice a few hundred for a much lower quality weapon. 3) Accuracy/durability is huge
I've seen the sp2340 for $570 w/ tritium sights and the p229 for $729 w/ standard sights. I have held them both and find them equally comfortable but I haven't had a chance to shot them. So I guess my real question is is the sp2340 as "good" as a gun as the hype that i've heard about the p229? Plz give me all the advice that you can think of...( I currently carry a spring field xd-9 tactical and I find this to be to bulky to conceal I don't like it when people can see me carrying a weapon.)

I don't know about the 2340, but the P229 is an excellent handgun. For carry, I would go with the P239. It comes in 9mm, .40, or .357 Sig. It is smaller and easier to conceal. If you do want a P229, give CDNN a call. It is the best deal on a used P229 I know of. $399 in very good to excellent condition with night sights. Shipping would be about $12 plus an FFL transfer fee of about $20. No sales tax. www.targetsportsinc.com/
