www.cdnninvestments.com/magloaders.htmlThe one I use isn't listed anymore but the ones they have look pretty good. Anyway, they are a great tool to have, especially if you do a lot of shooting. I only shoot about 200 rounds per session but a good mag loader will keep the skin on your thumb. A good friend that I shoot with who is also an LEO doesn't use it because they wouldn't have one in the field. Well, I only carry a single spare mag anyway with no loose ammo in my pocket but that is the only thing you may want to keep in mind. However, when at the range and shooting more than 50 rounds at a time, mine is a blessing.

www.ammoclip.com/M/magazine_loaders.htmI told you the wrong place. Here is the one that I have and it's very easy to use. I've had it probably 6 months at least and haven't had a lick of trouble.

I've often thought of picking one of these up. Now that I've heard someone say "they work"...... guess I'll spend the cash. My thumbs will appreciate it. MiKeMaN

I've found that by not trimming the thumb nail very short the skin under the thumbnail will not be pressed against the edges of the nail.I also use my non shooting thumb to press down on the previously loaded round, while my shooting hand thumb presses down on the new round to push it in place.I know those staggered stacked magazines can get tight after awhile.I usually load up around thirteeen ten round mags before leaving the house, so I'm good to go when I get there. After awhile I'll close down my session to only loading four at a time, and then to two with an average of 250 to 300 rounds a session.

I have manually ( that means without any device) loaded any type of magazine in any caliber without ever even thinking of needing help for the last 20 years .... Everything from single stack 45s to 17 round Glock 17s and AK47 clips. But the magazines of my new FN 49 are different. After loading 2 magazines with 10 rounds I feel ready for a break because my thumbs are hurting so bad. Maybe the springs will settle one day, but right now it's just a plain nightmare to load more then 7 or 8 rounds. As I mentioned in an earlier review of that gun - I took a friend with me to the shooting range, who is in his late 60s and wanted him to load one of the magazines with 10 rounds. He didn't have enough power to push down to get more then 7 or 8 rounds into the mag. A magazine loading helper will be a nice addition to my range bag. By the way, I took that magazines apart just to see what kind of device is inside to limit them to 10 rounds instead of the original 15 which it was designed for according to FN's website. There is nothing in there at all. Its just the stiffness of the spring that seems to make it impossible to load more than 10 rounds... That sure makes you wonder sometimes.

Hogrider;I found that after loading the staggered 10 round magazines, the 8 round single stacks of the 1911s are super light in comparison.I often wished that some magazines could have stripper clips and loaders like the M-16 and Ar-15.I use the Sig Magazines and they lossen up after a few uses but the thumbs still get a workout.

Well, it's not as good as sex in a mountain cabin with the woman you love but it is one of those little things that make life go by a little easier.
I'm glad you like it.

Hogrider;I'm real glad that you posted this, because if my thumb doesn't get any better ,I'm going to have to find me a loader also.If I had one now I would most definitely go shooting;it's so painful,I can only get 3 rounds in a .45acp single stack Wilson-Rogers before it seizes. If I can't load up by Sunday,I'm looking to order a versa loader or something.I see a very good use for these, even on the easiest of loading magazines, one never knows when a thumb injury might occur.
