As anybody who knows squat about firearms is aware, the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 did not ban any assault weapons. It mainly banned semi-automatic weapons based on their appearance. However, from here we can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! This law had a sunset clause written into it, which would mean the law would come up for a vote in 10 years (next year!). If the law is not renewed by Congress it goes away. The anti-gun nuts are trying to rally their forces. We must be more determined than they are. We must stand, rather than be railroaded again. The assault weapons ban was merely political hay made by the Democrats in their quest for total gun restriction. "Assault weapons" as they are defined by knowledgeable people are already banned under the Gun Control Act of 1933, which restricted the ownership of fully-automatic weaponry.
Don't count on it going away and expiring under the 10-year rule. The libs will be able to get it passed again, probably with even more restrictions. Maybe 5-round mags will become the norm, and we'll see a resurgence in the demand for revolvers.

Then all of us conservatives need to get out and try to increase our margin of majority. All the libs could do then is cry....
