I was wondering what everyones experience has been with cheap .45 ACP ammunition in 1911's. I've been using CCI/Blazers with no problems in 2000 rounds. I've also noticed another company makes super cheap ammo, Fiocchi. Any thoughts on either? I am too chicken to put steel in my gun so no wolf. Any advice? I shoot about 1000 rounds per trip to the range. ;D

I have used Fiocchi Ammo in .45 ACP and worked really well.

This is not what I refer to as "Cheap Ammo" but it is excellent and affordable.Check out the "Canned Heat" and Shear Power Plus, the brass can be returned at $.035 per empty,I get more off the floor when I'm shoveling up the empties at the range because I sweep everything off the floor, including my own. www.georgia-arms.com

Fiocchi's at cheaperthandirt.com for $8.47 a box of 50. That's about the cheapest I've found besides Wolf. I'm thinking that's the best buy I'm gonna find, aside from georgia-arms.com or other smaller reloaders.

Fiocchi will do;My brother and I fired 900 rounds of Ga. Arms 230 gr. reloaded cases through three different pistols a few weeks ago.Not one single malfunction from either;500 rds. went to break in a Wilson Combat protector model,300 rds went through a Colt Gold Cup Trophy, and 100 rds went through a Colt series 70 Combat Commander.Very good quality ammunition comes from the Ga. Arms Company but if I can't find what I'm looking for there I will turn to Winchester,Federal,PMC,or even IMI;but I will not use that cheap Russian crap in any of my guns.

My buddy, Matt has put quite a few different brands through his Glock 20, and Fiocchi's did terrible in his little test. He had at least one out of a hundred jam on him! The S&B rounds were terrible too. He lost quite a few seconds in our IDPA match because of jams with S&B. No other brands have had any jams, as far as I know. I know Glocks have tight tolerances, but gimme a break!!

I use Magtech and PMC. Winchester White Box if I can get it. If I need to check a firing pin spring, I'll use Wolf. I belive they have harder primers.
