Oh, I've seen those locks on some of the new guns. Lawmakers ignore the fact that they can't really make people use these gadgets. Time and effort would be better spent on training courses and strict enforcement of gun safety laws. If someone, say a child, is hurt by a gun you failed to secure, you should be prepared to face harsh punishment. I know the Sig mindset must be something to the affect that the best safety is in your head and pistols should not be made so that they can somehow be rendered unable to fire. Folks at Glock likely feel the same way.
PS -- I always thought Massachusetts was the most unfriendly state toward guns. Looks like Maryland has taken away the crown!

Callahan, Yeah........MD can be a tad "strict". I'm scrambling right now to find a SIG and not break the bank at the same time. I've got no beef with safety, but like I posted earlier, when the biggest/best manufacturers don't meet your state's requirements, it's pretty tough. Hard to believe, but true..........

Cnemikeman: Can you go to another nearby state and buy a handgun? I'm guessing you probably can't, since I believe even in Texas you have to have a driver's license issued by the state to buy a firearm.

To buy a gun in Oregon any gun limit 10 rounds in mag... you first pick out the gun.(Do the paper work if buying from a dealer) Then the dealer calls for an ok on your id. and 5mins later you are done the gun is yours. Carry licence takes about 30 days and whatever gun you want you can carry thats after a 4 hr, talk on gun saftey no test. Guns don't have to be registered so you can buy or sell to whoever no paper work. Was at a Radio Shack talking about my new gun when three guys waiting for parts each showed what they were carrying. We all beamed like new dads each one going "Oh look at that." ::)Doe's your sorry state think that the BG's buy only pc guns?

skinnygun, it's not the sorry state, actually, it is power hungry politicians. The overwhelming majority of Maryland is rural land and hunting/firearms ownership are a long-standing tradition/way of life. Our problem is that the population is so skewed by the liberal Baltimore suburbs and especially the counties along the DC border... Montgomery and Howard counties contain affluent, liberal DC suburbs like Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville and Potomac, and politicians from there get in power on the liberal ticket as anti-gunners, even though it is a matter of public record that those politicians themselves almost all have CCW's, which you can only get in Maryland if you are politically connected, demonstratably carry over $5000 cash every day or have three police report documented "verified" death threats. Gun control here is not so much the polular mandate as it is a tool used by ambitious politicains to recruit the soccer mom vote and stay in power.
The integrated gun lock law passed here because the Republican senator placed in charge of the opposition to that bill sold us out and brokered a deal for personal political gain behind our backs.
These folks aren't idiots and they know the crime stats as well as we do, but they are willing to sacrifice the safety of the common citizen so that they can stay in power. Maryland's voters have already struck back by denying Kathleen Kennedy Townsend the governership and electing NRA grade A+ Bob Ehrlich.
There are plenty of blind liberal gun haters in Maryland but they pretty much all live in three very populous counties, and the politicians themselves are far worse than blind, they are greedy.
