Has anyone had any luck with the "no drill and tap" mounts for the blackhawk .357 mag? I read online somewhere that they can break off and ruin your scope and break the screw off for the rear site. Would it be better to find someone to drill and tap my gun for me? I'm not to keen on machining on a hand gun, unless I have to. This is going to be my hunting gun for a few years so in needs to be solid. Any other options? Thank you.

havensal; If your intending on using the scope as the primary, yes,do get it drilled and tapped. There are some mounts available that do not require drilling & tapping into the top strap, one is by B-Square.I think you would be better to go with the preferred method for for mounting a scope,I've used both in the past.Find a good pistolsmith in your area,in the meantime I'll try to find something from an old hand at scoped revolvers,a fellow named Hal Swiggett.
