I bought a Gun Cleaning Mat on Ebay and used it the first time a few days ago to clean 3 guns. Works great. Has a smooth suface and absorbes a lot of solvent, but has a backing that will not allow that stuff to leak on your work bench or table. Also works great for working on guns in general. Before I always using an old T Shirt or a Terry Cloth, but this is much better. The product is called "DYN-O-MAT" professional hand gun cleaning mat and made in the good ol' US of A. I thought I I had to share my positive experience with this product.

HogRider;I've done alot of shopping for gun stuff on ebay, and, your right, deals are there. You can also find some good Bianchi Gun Leather on ebay, some of the holsters, they don't make anymore, and you can find them in new condition, for less than you would expect to pay for nylon.I bought one of my Dlask triggers off ebay, saved $20.,and Brownell's was out of them at the time.

I purchased mine at Wal-Mart. It's the Outers brand. It was around $10.00 and works great. Careful washing it in the washer though, it can get creased during the spin cycle and ruined. I roll it up with my shammy inside and pack at in my gig bag for cleaning up at the range after I shoot.

I use two cheap yellow plastic placemats. They don't absorb, but when I'm done, I wipe them off with a rag. They provide a padded surface, and a means of keeping the glop off the table and the wife off my back. 89 cents each at Wal-Mart.
