The Wolf ammunition has been getting alot of mixed reviews. It seems time that someone posted a poll to see how it comes out.

I have heard too many bad reviews on Wolf and actually 2 of the ranges I go to will NOT allow it in their establishment. Every person at my local shops here never recommend it and only one place has it on their shelf.
Never will use it unless it's the last source of ammo in a desperate situation.

dubbleakshun: I have had bad luck with Wolf. Oddly enough, at guns shows around here the stuff sells like hotcakes. I don't think Wolf is having any financial trouble. Like you, I find other souces for good ammo at reasonable cost.

My wife has a Kel-Tec 9mm and she has gone through two boxes of Wolf ammo with no problems. But she found the best bullet for the price (for target loads) to be the Winchester 100-pack from wal-mart for about $9.

I bought a case of the stuff on line. It shoots fine in my pistols but boy, does it stink. It smells like an old fart in a new elevator. If you are shooting into the wind you better have an extra set of ear plugs to cram up your nose. The Wal-Mart Winchester smokes as well but at least it doesn't stink. All Wolf ammo utilize a metal case. The Wolf factory paints some sort of laquer on them I guess so they don't scratch the inside of the weapon. The metal case seems to be the main complaint. Apparently, it can damage the mechanisms in semi autos. A friend of mine shot some through his H&K .45 and it was actually was making sparks as he was firing. Needless to say he didn't try any more.
Anyway, the Winchester 100 pack in 9mm is a great deal IF ONE CAN FIND IT. The two Wal-Mart stores near me are always sold out. I found some in a nearby town but so far in Houston, none of them ever have any stock. Maybe I need to talk to the sporting goods manager to order a case. At least I wouldn't have to pay all that shipping.

Real hard on extractors, I would not use it in my guns. Single action break open maybe. Doc

I've used Wolf in my SKS as well as my CZ-75, and every round has been a surefire round, and quite accurate. For my SKS, I'm not too concerned with the metal case hurting it - all Eastern-Bloc weaponry is utterly durable and was designed to use metal-cased ammo anyways.
As far as my CZ-75, I recently shot 100 rounds, after having been out of practice for quite a few months. I was accurate enough for my own satisfaction, but I did notice that my gun was sparking as I fired. I don't think this is attributable to the metal case, as the bullet was your standard copper-coated FMJ 115-grain ball. However, after hearing that they could be tough on extractors, I'll spend a few more bucks and go with brass cases next time.
