-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Johnson Marine Launches Sporting Firearms Division
[Reuters Newswire. Sept. 26 2002] At a press conference late Monday, Woodrow Johnson, the CEO of Johnson Marine, makers of Johnson outboard marine engines and other recreational equipment, unveiled plans for a new line of low cost heavyweight sporting and hunting pistols exceeding .577 caliber to compete with industry leaders like Magnum Research's "Desert Eagle."
Does anyone have any info on this?

It's a little early to get any reliable info on such a new introduction to the gun world.Keep a good look out in the gun magazines or go to the Johnson Outboard Motor Company web site.I'm like this, anything larger or more powerful than an affordable S&W 44 magnum deserves the possibilities of looking into the rifle cartridges.

gd714, Wow, I hadn't heard that! This could be interesting. Will they be 2-stroke or 4-stroke? ;D Seriously, I'll take a peek around. If I find anything more out, I'll post it here, and you do the same, deal? Slick PS - Just checked the website, nothing there about it, even under "press releases"

I have 5 S&W 44 mags, the ammo is within reasonal costs that I can afford to shoot;but if I even wanted to consider a handgun of any more power I would have to go with the Freedom Arms .454 Casull.
