SA-XD 9 in Duty-size or Compact?

Okay,
Springfield has been whetting my appetite for one of these little XDs but I can't get my hands on one. Obviously I'd like to have one of each ( a 4" and a 3") but right now that's not an option. Has ANYONE been able to check this gun out? Even better, has anyone been able to do a side-by-side comparison of the two? How do they compare? What about price? Are mags interchangeable? I'm leaning towards the compact right now but I am wanting to handle one first...let's hear it guys!

p.s. are there any ladies on this forum?

I read on the XD site that the first 50 of the sub compacts arrived at SA and are getting the once through by their QC department. If they pass, then the'll recieve a couple hundred more. There are a few folks on the XD site that shot them during the XD games(?) at the ange in CA, and he gave it a good rating. All the magazines are raving about the subcompact also.
I doubt if the mags are innerchangable but it would be cool to have 15 rounds of 9 though. I have the 4" XD40 and I'm going to try for the subcompact when they hit the market.

;D I would get the reg size you can get hi cap mags for it as well check further down on the other post and you will see what i am talking about let us know which way you go. RONNIE45

After looking over this site last night and joining. I thought I'd tell you all about going to visit my XD-9 Sub Compact pistol today at Butch's Gun shop in Seattle. Of course I was assaulted visually with the adds and web site hype like all of the rest of you magazine readers and internet users, but I have been impressed with the regular sized XD from the start. So a smaller 9 sounded like a real winner. I went looking for one and found out like everyone else no can do!! well that sucked and I forgot about it untill I was at Butch's place griping about the XD-9 and Butch gets off the phone and sez "I got one coming tommorrow" and then "but it will be gone in ten minutes!!" So I sez... um, could I just buy it right now? and he said sure. It is very nice! So I pick it up next friday! cheers ;D
