This is my "ManSmith" .357 Magnum. It is a Smith and Wesson Model 65 LS LadySmith and I've polished off the LadySmith logo and added some Spegel boot grips. Kleanbore leadfree cloths, and a little Mother's Mag Wheel Polish did the trick. It came with the bead blast finish that I absolutely hate. The BB showed every speck of dirt and every dirty fingerprint. Now I've got a nice satin shine with no "girly" names on it  Actually, I didn't really care what it said on it, I just didn't want that smudge attracting bead blast finish. That's a Kramer IWB #2 and a Microtech LCC DA

Roger C: NIce post. Thanks again for sharing. The Colt .22's are great. I had a Woodsman years ago. Like an idiot I traded it off.

Hi Roger, I love the way your gun turned out. In fact, so much so that I am tempted to get one and do the same thing. I've been wanting a 3" fixed sight .357 and this just might be the way to go. I never liked the bead blast finish and I have to say that I do really dislike the idea of "LadySmith" written on the side. How long did it take you to get it to this condition? Best, Mike

Hi Roger,
Sweet looking revolver, nice polish job done on it. How do you like the wood grips when you shoot .357 loads?

The bead blast polished off pretty easy. I'd say it might have taken me an hour to get it looking satiny. Then a half dozen or so sessions of polishing it while watching TV. The more you rub the better it looks. The LadySmith logo came off pretty easy, but I've heard that some guns are Laser Etched a little deeper than this one was.
The Spegels handle very well, even with magnum loads. But your mileage may vary. Recoil doesn't bother me, and I have fairly large hands.
3 inch K frames carry very well, especially in a quality holster like the Kramer IWB #2.
I was fortunate when I got this one. It has the firing pin on the hammer, the older style cylinder latch, and no MIM parts.
I love 3 inch RB M13's for their nice bluing, but for IWB carry, the stainless RB 65's are a better choice.

Those Craig Spiegel Boot grips really enhances that gun.Now it looks more like a magnum, good idea on removing the" Lady Smith". Roger;is Spiegel still working most with coco bolo wood?

He does a lot of Cocobolo. Also Rosewood. Craig shows up at our local gun show from time to time. Real nice guy.
I don't like boot grips on some guns, but the K RB guns are "made" for them.

Roger; You are lucky, trying to get Craig Speigels grips here has been almost impossible. My brother had to beg Jack Weigand for a set a few years ago.Speigel had a three month back order for them at $80. a set.I have a few S&W stainless revolvers I want to get some for;those are some of the best looking grips I've seen.
