As you all know, the warmer it gets, and the lighter the clothing, the more difficult it becomes to conceal a carry gun. I have a soft chest band rig that places my .380 under the arm but it's still not comfortable and hard to access quickly. I have an IWB that is only good if you wear your T-shirt or polo untucked. Only rig I've been able to come up with that is really practical all the time with shorts and a T-shirt is a pocket holster with a small .32. Any suggestions? Bigger caliber in the pocket holster? Different method of carry? What works for you in warm weather?

Hey Callahan...You can always go with the ever fashionable fanny pack. Those are always nice....OK, maybe not.
Look into the kel-tec p11. It's a small, inexpensive 9mm.

I have been using a Smart Carry holster (http://www.smartcarry.com/) with my Kahr P40 and it works well. I hardly even know I've got it on and not one person has even noticed the slight bulge (which might not be a bad thing, some ladies might think you’re very well endowed!). You can even wear it without a shirt! Check out their web site it has lot's more info.

Kevlar: Yeah, I'd like to look at the Kel-Tec in 9mm. I have a P32 and it's so small and light you'd almost forget it's there. The trouble with the fanny pack is I alway think, maybe I'm wrong, that you might as well wear a T-shirt with huge block letters that say, "I AM CARRYING!"

BL: That looks like something you could wear for extended periods. Is it comfortable while seated and driving? I think I saw another brand by the name of Thunderwear once. If you ordered it a particular size like for a Sig 239 it would probably accommodate many different carry pistols, eh, or would that not work?

Yeah...I was just kidding anyway. I saw a guy yesterday wearing sweat pants, t shirt and a fanny pack. The first thing I thought had nothing to do with carrying.

Callahan, It is almost exactly the same as the Thunderwear product except that Charlie, The Owner, patented a new design where there are no downward facing seams. This mean your gun won't snag we being drawn. Yes it is very comfortable while sitting down. I haven't practiced much while sitting down with a seatbelt but I've been told it's quite easy to draw. I believe that you can order four or five different sizes and if you choose a holster that will fit your largest handgun you can add saftey pins to customize it to fit smaller ones.

I'm amazed to hear you could access it while driving and belted in. Might be a real accomplishment for those of us who have a bit of a belly!

Callahan, Glaco makes a nice holster they call the BellyBand. It is terrible for re-holstering, but it is worn directly around the waist, chest, hips wherever you want, and you can just wear a shirt over it. It is great for concealment unless you have a really big pistol. But my friend carries his 4" XD in his and it can hardly be outlined with a larger shirt on.

Jeffress77: Does the pistol fit in a pocket of the band rather than between the band and your body?

Have you tried a fanny pack? I use a Galco waist pack. They are spendy, but fit nicely around the waist. There are less expensive brands available on the internet.

I don't know about the fanny pack. I alway think that is a major tipoff that you are carrying. How about it, does everyone else feel that way? If you see someone with a fanny pack do you automatically think, "He's packing." I saw a guy going into a restaurant the other day wearing a white shirt and tie, dress slacks and shoes, and wearing a fanny pack. Would you have thought he was carrying or am I wrong...

I always suspect someone carrying a fanny pack as someone packing. I don't know if the general public would though. ;D

Yeah, I suspect people with concealed carry licenses are more sensitive to what a fanny pack is most useful for.

callahan, it is actually a leather holster pocket in the bellyband. It doesn't fit inside the band against your stomach or waist. So it goes into the leather
