I live in Florida and wearing a fanny pack is not a big deal. Most of the tourist wear them and no one thinks much of it. Better still I buy a good /small camera case and I just blend right in. Of course i live near WDW and I try to look like one of the tourist.

I once concealed a Colt Gold Cup 1911 and two extended ten round magazines on a shoulder harness, from three uniform officers of the city police force.I was wearing lightweight shorts, sandals, and a light ,oversize, short sleeve cotton shirt cover up.

DA, et. al.: Do you guys wear a T-shirt between the rig and your skin? In the South, it's already gotten plenty hot this year. I noticed the other day when I took off my blued .380 it actually had beads of moisture on it from where I had been perspiring and it was against the skin of my underarm. Holster I was wearing is made out of a cotton stretchy fabric joined with Velcro fasteners. It was damp, too. Feel like that situation demands a T-shirt, but it's alreay hot enough.
(That's why I prefer the little .32 in a pocket holster. It is also polymer and stainless so their is no concern over tarnish/rust.)

Callahan; On that particular occaission it was a "For the Moment" situation.I do wear a T-Shirt underneath but most of the time during daylight I wear a belt holster, like the Galco "Concealable".If it gets too warm,I go with the S&W 640 Centinnial. And if it gets real hot,I stay at home and hang out at the pool. ;D

DA: You got the right idea being at poolside. We set a temp record today. I think the pocket holster is the only one that is working for me in this weather, maybe until I try out the Smart Carry, anyway.

You might want to look into one of the tuckable holsters. Galco has a new one out called the USA and it looks to be a pretty good design. Its an IWB with space betgween the clip and holster to tuck your shirt into. I don't own one but did look at it for my 640 Centennial and it seems as if it would work. As to the question about fanny packs and do I think a person wearing one is packing, I always assume that they might be but never really give it much thought. When I need to wear a tucked in shirt I slip my NAA Guardian .32 into my pocket. Mike

Callahan I use the galco belly band to carry in the summer I can conceal my 4" XD with ease and even the full size Glock 21 is easily conceled. ( Im a pretty big guy though) Its actually very handy you can positon the holser where ever you want by just truning the band to where you want it and there are 2 leather pockets one and a forward cant and one strait. the back has a place to put cuffs and extra mags. Great choice for summer carry. The only draw back is that its hard to reholster. You can pick one up for around $30

Check out the Kramer "confidant" undershirt holster for deep deep comfy carry in the summer. You can hide it under your t-shirt. Not for full size guns of course. Doc

That Kramer T may be a better option than what I tried, which was a regular T-shirt with a pocket T-shirt over it and a fabric carry rig. Too warm! Looks like it is much lighter, what is referred to insensitively as a "w***-beater style in some quarters...

Talk about concealed carry in warm weather!
I was watching the national news on TV last night and they were doing a segment on how violent a place Iraq is and how guns are everywhere.
They showed a guy walking down a busy street in some Iraq city, and as he approached the camera he raised his untucked, buttoned shirt.
Around his waist he had an ordinary leather belt with at least three handguns jammed into it! No t-shirt...

jl-site.com/TuckerLeather/IWB-1.htmlI use the type with the twin Kydex clips and tucking a shirt is very easy and natural looking. the picture doesn't show it very well but they have an adequate sweat tab. No matter what IWB holster you get, make sure it has that tab. It keeps the pistol away from your skin even without a t-shirt. The maker is here in Houston so I was able to have mine made with "belt slots" for a regular fit when needed. I just remove the clips or point them down. I've used this holster with Polo shirts as well as dress shirts. In Houston, right now it's hot and I never go out without a t-shirt. The T-shirt soaks up the sweat and actually will make you cooler and keeps your clothes looking cleaner throughout the day. (Free Fashion Tip!) I also have a Smart Carry that I use exclusively with shorts and overalls. The only down side to the Smart Carry for me is that re-holstering is a pain. If you don't have room for both of your hands inside your pants then you almost have to unbutton your trousers just to reholster. You have to open the pocket of the Smart Carry and then re-holster with the other hand. It makes practicing draws at the range a bit of a drag when you practically have to strip just to practice. It's easier with overalls or shorts with an elastic waist band.
