Hello, o learned ones. How difficult is it to change out a revolver hammer spring and trigger return spring in order to reduce the trigger pull? Are Wolff springs calibrated so that they won't be too weak and cause failure to fire?

Terrapin;I usually have had the opportunity to aquire the services of Jack Weigand on some of my revolvers. Now that his services are beyond my reaches I am inclined to look toward a future of doing my own trigger actions.Jerry Miculek has a video on doing trigger jobs on the Smith & Wesson available through Clark Custom ,there are also instructional video tapes on trigger actions through the American Gunsmith Institute. What Weigand did to my revolvers was hone the double action to a smooth 7 1/2 to 8 lb single stroke trigger. At one time Jack Weigand was writing gunsmithing tips for Brownell's Bench Talk, where he would discuss in details his art of working on trigger actions for the 1911.I can research any kits that might be available for your pistol;what revolver is it?

DA, thanks for your response! It is a Taurus 94 22LR that I got so my girlfriend would be able to plink, but with the 12-lb. factory trigger pull she pretty much has to fire it single action right now. This gun will never be used for self defense (Mossberg 12 gauge and GP100 .357 plus seven self loaders if it ever comes to that), so I'm not worried about its reliability if I mess with the springs. I even won't mind occasional failure to fire from light primer strikes for this particular gun. I'll look for that video... perhaps gunvideos.com will have it...

Terrapin; When you get to Brownells go to their Gun Tech and ask for advice, they might have a spring kit for you that will work best. The Brownells staff is highly trained Gun Smiths.
