That's something to think about.... At the end of your days will you leave your sons Berettas or Bersas? Glocks or Guardians? Kimbers or Kel-Tecs?

My sons are not into handguns or firearms,so my wife will probably sell everything I own, related to firearms ,that will still be around in case of my sudden departure. This will include some shop posters that I paid $40. each for, some metal Colt signs, factory cap pins, range bags, pistol rugs, gunsmithing and cleaning tools,my Colt jacket, patches, decals, grips, holsters, slings, scopes, red dots, shooting vests, shooting gloves, brass catchers, ammo magazines, magazine pouches, pistol belts,Colt Towels,Rubber S&W and Colt bench matts, plastic ammunition cases,Rifle and handgun carry cases, targets, safety glasses, many ear muffs, pistol perch, trigger weights, books, videos, some gun parts, ammunition, and finally the guns. This might be one gunshow worth attending,I keep the original boxes and packaging for everything I've bought. In time most of it will show up on the various sites that I've opened;I have a person who is a member here, and my Gunmen II site, who will be in contact just in case. ;D

It sounds like your gunroom would be a tea-room with lace curtains before you are cold. I don't think my wife would hang onto anything either.

That is one collection I can only imagine and would hate to see it on the websites mentioned in the fashion you have thought through. Like RogerC said.... nobody's going anywhere!

TA;The day my first son moved out,I began work on my Gun Room. The first thing I did was choose a "Man" color;I came up with Forest Green;and it so happened that when my safe was delivered,it too,was Forest Green.I have Stereo,Satellite Television,Video Game console,Stereo VCR,and all the comforts of home back there, including a swivel based chair to rotate around my work.I also have a 21 pistol wall display board that I built;I'll take photos of the board one day and post it.

I am fortunate. Although she lacks the passion i have for guns, my wife enjoys them, and knows I would "come back" to haunt her if she sold my stuff....... My 15 year old will have a fair collection one day

OOps let me clarify my previous post, I would hate to see your collection get "re-distributed" and sold away on a website is what I was meaning, but if you posted pics of your collection "tea room", that would be awesome. ;D

The Gun Room provides me with a place to retreat to whenever someone comes over. It's not that large but I do manage to have my own chair, and two Winchester Director chairs for visitors.I have my other son's bedroom made into my office, where my books, another Television,Video center,Wall bookcase,Computer, and Desk is located.I often have to retrieve something from my Gun Room for reference,it's across the hall from me.I forgot to mention,I also have a Soft Air Shooting range in my Gun Room ;D;a Sig 228 Soft Air pistol.

Dubb,
One day I think "My Room" will end up looking very similar, it's an eventuality. Hopefully my son will inherit everything.

I've serviced several handguns for younger guys whose fathers passed away, nothing fancy or worth alot, but treasures still the same.I would ask alot of anyone to keep the guns together, and even more, to put into them as I have.I'm hoping to see my grand kids grow old enough to appreciate such things.I try not to complicate things with too many variations of the semi autos,I have one design of Single Action Semi Auto, and one design of the Double Action Semi Auto, and their variations. The compatibility of Holsters and magazines seem to be more economical.I still have a few more 1911s on my mind for the future, one is the Colt Series 70 GI Model, the other is another Re-Issued series 70 Govt. Model, which I'll keep stock this time.

Mitch;Everything takes time, alot of it.It helps to have a stampede on getting things done, but it still takes time and money. For me,it all equates to patience and working at a steady, but average, pace over a period of about about nine years.I'm slowing down more this year,as opposed to previous years, because last year involved alot more than the previous yearly budget allowance.

Yeah I can see that. I am more prone now to making each purchase count now, without ever considering selling whatever I add now to my collection. I calculate in about 10 years time I will have everything I want and would be touching on reloading by then. ;D
