I cleaned the Springer last night with just a field strip cleaning, and it is in much better shape. I don't know how a gun owner could sell you something and not clean it BEFORE you send it to the buyer. I guess that's just me. All in all from what I can tell the Springer I bought is legitimately "Like New", it just wasn't cleaned before the seller sent it. I can't wait...

Mitch;I've found some of my best deals from owners who never had their guns long enough to clean them, and some never had their guns long enough to shoot them.I bought a 686 that had only six rounds shot through it.Some people don't think it's necessary to clean a gun after every shooting, and then all of a sudden they need money, and sell the gun without cleaning it first.

DA, Same time last year I would barely entertain buying a pre-owned gun, but after purchasing a new one thru a website, selling one via a webstie to a buyer in another state, and now buying one from out of state, I would not hesitate. I love those LNIBs deals that are 20-30% off what you would find brand new!

Mitch:I have my brother to thank for alot of deals I've done on acquiring some of the upper end pistols and revolvers. He also keeps a look out for me on deals at the range. When I buy new, it is something that I really want,at a good price offered, with some bonuses thrown in.I picked up the Trophy new at $859. with $100. dollars worth of range coupons tossed in.

HEy guys, In case you havent noticed, Ive posted my new Colt 1991a1 on the 1911 BOys club website. check it out! Since I bought it, I replaced the factory guide rod, which as a short, hollow, stubby looking thing with an Ed Brown full size stainless steel one piece guide rod. I shot it before and after the change it makes a world of difference. -ct

That's a great looking 1911 CT. It's ripe for personalization, but shoot it a while first before you change anything. (I should follow that advice a bit.......Right now I have a new set of grips I need a pistol for...... ) If you want different grips, check out ebay. Search with 1911 grips, and expect to pay around $20 for a decent set (including shipping). You can also find hammers, triggers, ears and such but know the prices in Brownells. If you do not have a Brownell's catalog, order one. My Commander is the same style stainless as your Government. I finally polished down most of the blasted finish, and like it much better that way. Here's a link to it. groups.msn.com/THE1911BOYSCLUB/pistolprofiles.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=118&LastModified=4675434164670986825 Scroll down until you get to the last picture.

Thanks;I had to delete one of my message posts to keep the 1911 message number;I'm sure I'll find plenty more to delete in order to keep this number for quite awhile. Thanks Again Fellas.
