When I think of a a moive where the 1911 is whipped out, I have been reminded lately of Sam Elliot wielding his 1911 in "We Were Soldiers".

My favorite 1911 scene from a movie is Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan, close to the end, when he's all busted up and he is shooting at the tank. Old Slabsides at it's finest.

If you really want to see a good one,try watching "The Lost Batallion".It's WW I,close combat, and the 1911 was a real asset to have with the advantage of it's semi auto design over the bolt action rifles.I saw the use of the 1911 used more in this one than all the others.Rick Shroder plays the part of a doughboy Lt. whose unit gets stranded without support and out numbered by overwhelming odds by the enemy.Based on a true story.

Bruce Willis made one called "Last Man Standing",where he carried a double shoulder harness rig with two 1911s.There have been alot of pistolero movies, but none really captures the 1911 in the modern movies like they should;good example of that would be Sylvester Stallone when he cleaned his 1911 at the first of the movie, getting his cleaning kit from an egg carton from the frig, and cleaning his pistol while he watched TV and ate cold pizza.
