Although in this movie the Tommy Gun was probably more remembered, Tom Hanks - "Road to Perdition", he also used a 1911. BTW - I nicknamed my new boy "Bruce", kinda in following from Last Man Standing, but more it seemed like a fit for my first 1911.

Mitch; Please don't call it Sarge;there is a guy on a community site, like mine who calls himself Sarge;he served in the national guard as everything from an international spy, elite firearms instructor, and prevented many international global incidents that allow the free world to sleep at night,as he tells.Melvin would be good, named after the famous Melvin Purvis of the FBI;I think he carried a 1911,you might want to check it out with the FBI website.

That's cool Dubb, Sarge didn't seem right with me anyways since I am a civilian, but I'm stikcing with Bruce, the nickname for my son is based off that person I got it from anyways.

Bruce is excellent;a matter of fact,it was in "Die Hard II" where Bruce turned alot of newcomers on to the Glock.Best Bruce Movie? I liked the non action based suspense of "The Sixth Sense",just to name one.Bruce and Samuel Jackson made another movie together, after Die Hard III,but I can't think of the name.

"Sixth Sense" was a good idea.
Hey, Mitch, how about calling the 1911 "The Duke" after John Wayne?
Well, whatta ya think of that, pilgrim?

You wanna see a 1911 in another movie?,Try "The Getaway" with Steve McQueen.Another version was made with Kim Bassenger and Alex Baldwin;they had 1911s in that one also.McQueen did it better.

I think "Last Man Standing" with Bruce Willis was pretty awesome. Lots of 1911 action. There was one scene where he blows a gangster through a window - shooting 2 1911s at the same time in slow motion. A must see. ;D

One thing that "Last Man Standing","The Getaway","Wild Bill","The Longriders",and"48 Hours had in common; they were either written or directed by Walter Hill.If it's not a western,it will probably have a 1911 in it.
