That's a good question RogerC, I'm thinking other morons because some of us who know what we're doing are just not going out there to vote and write to congressmen and senators about our rights. I've never been much into politics until I realized that I must do something if I'm to be heard by the politicians who represent me. SO let's go out there and make our voices heard! -ct

This is why I am so active in trying to make people aware of legislations, and try to get them to write, call, fax, whatever it takes to make your voice heard, and not only that... spread the word! You shouldn't complain if you didn't at least take part in your right to vote. CA is a beautiful state, but sadly there is too many liberals, as long as I am here I will do what I can, and speak unashamedly against moronic liberal legislation. I have spoken outloud about moving amongst my friends, but as one of them say, if all Conservatives left, then there would definitely not be Conservative voice. Too much liberal thinking is giving this state away economically and socially! As I always say.... this is "the Land of the Free", not the land of the free-bies! MHS

Hey guys, I was looking at the 1911 pictures on the 1911 Boy's Club and I really like the polished finish on one of XavierBreath's Colt commanders. I'd like to have my colt government polished as well and I was wondering how I can get it done. For those in the club already, I also posted a message there as well so this might seem like deja vu. Thanks everyone! -ct

CT;If it's a Stainless Colt, there almost are no limitations to the polishing results.I've seen some from the Custom Shop, called "Bright Stainless",where the pistol is polished to a mirror finish;I spent two days matching an aftermarket extended thumb safety for one.If you want yours to look like Xavier's,I'm sure he will be more than glad to share with you how he done his.

dub;awesome, I'll contact him to see about polishing my Colt. I saw a colt with the "bright stainless" and it was quite nice. I'm embarking on a customization project so I sorta want to get all my idea together. Polishing the matte finish is one of them. I'll be sure to let everyone know of my progress. thanks for the info. -ct

You're gonna need something that starts with a 4 or greater to bring that old boy down in the above post! This is no time to throw down with the .380!

Callahan, I like your 'starting with a 4' rule of thumb, although I suppose that someone packing a .357 may have a beef with that.

CT, I am pretty rought on my pistols at the range, and when the NRM Commander started to show marks in the rounds where it was sandblasted matte, I had to do something. I disassembled it, and used a stainless wire brush on a Dremel to break down the blasted finish. OnceI had it as smooth as possible with the wire brush, I went with a buffing wheel and some rouge. I stayed away from the flats, as I like the brushed finish on them, and I left the top of the slide blasted to reduce glare. I also left the grip safety/hammer area blasted for the same reason. You will think you are ruining it at first, but take it slow, with a relatively high Dremel speed and you will do fine. Clean things good prior to reassembly.

MLB: Looks like there really are exceptions to every rule!

Maybe we can compromise with a .357 magnum using a 158 gr. Gold Dot Bullet with a velosity of 1475 fps 15 feet from the muzzle, from a 4" Barrel.

HogRider; It truly breaks my heart to see the 21 go. ;D Looks like you've already been inducted into the "Boy's Club".I might start up a new site, how does "The 1911 Boy's Club" sound? I'm always open to new suggestions, but more so when those suggestions are applied to something with purpose. groups.msn.com/THE1911BOYSCLUB
